Dr. John La Bonte - Veterinarian

Dr. John La Bonte, a recent graduate from the University of Arizona, is thrilled to join LTAH and contribute to its renowned reputation for quality animal care.

Born and raised in Orange County, CA, Dr. La Bonte completed his undergraduate degree in Marine Biology at UC Santa Cruz. After spending the past five years in Seattle, WA, and Tucson, AZ, he is excited to return to the Central Coast.

With over seven years of experience in small animal general practice and various specialty hospitals, Dr. La Bonte has developed a deep appreciation for the bond between pets and their owners. His veterinary passions include oncology, dermatology, internal medicine, and the intersection of veterinary medicine with human public health.

Dr. La Bonte aims to be a trusted partner in guiding you through informed decisions about your pet’s care. He is dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of animals and values building strong, supportive relationships with pet owners.

Outside of work, Dr. La Bonte enjoys going to the gym, hiking, and camping with friends. He has a passion for cooking a wide variety of cuisines and loves exploring new destinations. He is also eager to start biking and discover all that San Luis Obispo County has to offer.
